About 梁海liáng hǎi / Liang Hai

I go by my surname Liang [ljɑŋ], unless we talk in 中文 (普通话)—then you should know how to address me.

Based in Den Haag, I work at Typotheque with a title of “multilingual font technologist”. Most of my evening and weekend time is spent on various Unicode projects, notably:

• Unicode Technical Committee (UTC)
  • Script Encoding WG (previously known as “Script Ad Hoc Group”)
    • My focus is on solving technical difficulties of implementing the complex scripts, especially the Indic ones and Mongolian.
  • Editorial WG (previously known as “Editorial Committee”)
    • Check out the web-based core spec!
  • Charts WG
    • Maintenance and production of the code charts.
  • Release Management WG
• Adopt-a-Character (AAC)
• Infrastructure Team
